Cheap Comfortable Couches
The couch is the center of an area. It must be durable, stylish and comfortable. If you're on limited funds, finding a couch that ticks all of these boxes can be a challenge.
We spoke with two interior designers to help us find the most comfortable couches that aren't expensive and will last for many years.

1. IKEA Sofa
If you're looking for a low profile couch that still feels solid and robust This is a great option. It's soft, comfortable and comfortable, it's easy to imagine that a whole family of people reclining on it (it even has an armchair version). This sofa is also versatile and can be used with any style of decor. It looks great in any color of leather or fabric.
The sofa isn't as flashy or contemporary as IKEA's other options, but it has a sophisticated look that's comparable to other more premium competitors. The low banana-shaped arms and ample cushions create an appearance that's elegant and traditional. It's also very affordable and is available in a variety of options for upholstery, including leather and fabric.
What I find appealing about the IKEA website:
IKEA provides a lot of information on the front page. I find this to be extremely helpful. Prices and names are listed in front of you, and they've got dimensions in abundance to help you determine if the furniture will work for your space before you buy. They also provide clear explanations of the construction and materials, which is a nice addition. They use a combination of solid wood, plywood, and particleboard in a number of their frames which helps keep costs down while maintaining strength. They also specify if the filling material is foam or feathers. This can have a big impact on how firm a couch is. I'd like to see them go a bit further and include details of how individual components are made however they do a great job overall.
2. World Market Brynn Feather Filled Loveseat
World Market's online presence gives an international bazaar vibe that can be a bit overwhelming. There's a lot of visual stimulation and information to process, especially when you're focused on finding the perfect sofa.
The site makes it easy to zoom in by providing a dedicated section for furniture on the top navigation bar. This will take you directly to couches. From there, you can search by upholstery material, style and color.
Many World Market sofas are made with performance fabrics that resist staining, which is great for families with pets or children. The company offers a broad range of cushion comforts, like foam vs. fibrefill.
One important thing to be aware of is that the majority of World Market sofas require assembly. This can be good or bad, based on how well you're capable of assembling things. The website of the company shows the sofas from different angles, as well as close-ups of details like leg stitching and the legs. You can see how your sofa will look in your home, before you purchase. The website is also transparent when it comes to displaying information about delivery. It will inform you the time it will take for your sofa to be delivered to your home. In-stock items are usually shipped within a few days. You can also choose to pick the item up at a local store should you wish to receive it faster. The website also accepts major credit cards but does not offer financing through third-party companies like Affirm or Klarna. This is a big problem for those who wish to spread out their payments, but be on the lookout for promotional offers from the brand that may include no or deferred interest for a specified period.
3. Capasa Sofa
A khaki green option that Good Housekeeping calls a "truly extraordinary duplicate" of the cloud couch The sofa is easy to set up and has deep seats. This sofa is also affordable. Be aware that cushions that do not have a core may sag with time. Morse recommends looking for a cushion that has feathers or fiber wrapped around the foam core.
Pro feather and feather fillings are soft and have a luxurious feel. They also breathe and regulate temperature. The downside is that they are costly and may trigger allergies in certain people. Plus, they can require frequent faffing to keep their shape.
4. Maxwell Ryan Co-Created Loveseat
The sofa is the place where you will spend most of your #netflixandchilltime. It's also one of the most expensive pieces of furniture you'll find in your home. It's therefore worth the effort to invest in one that you love--and that you can afford.
The company was founded by Apartment Therapy founder Maxwell Ryan and funded by the prestigious technology accelerator Y Combinator, Burrow aims to be the Ikea of folding couches. The company sells three versions of the couch (a chair, a loveseat, and a sectional) in varying sizes. The design is reminiscent of traditional European designs, but it is also more modern and minimalist due to the slimmer frame rails.
The primary selling point is that it folds flat to store. The real game changer is that, unlike many foldable furniture, this one can be assembled by one person with no tools in around 20 minutes. The company's aim is that when you buy a Burrow sofa, you are sure it will fit your space and last for 10 to 20 years. That's a big step up from the disposable Ikea model.
